SAU adds Men’s Volleyball

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University Athletic Department will be adding the sport of men's volleyball and will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

"The explosive growth of men's volleyball in recent years – particularly at the high school level – makes it an ideal addition to our athletic offerings at Spring Arbor University," interim athletic director Ryan Marken said. "This dynamic sport provides an exciting opportunity for our student-athletes to pursue excellence on the court while deepening their faith and expanding the Kingdom of Christ."

Men's volleyball continues to be one of the fastest-growing sports in the NAIA. The association added men's volleyball as an invitational sport in the 2015-16 academic year before elevating it to national championship status in 2018-19.

The addition of men's volleyball brings SAU's total number of sport offerings to 23 and reflects the university's ongoing commitment to providing competitive athletic opportunities that align with its mission and values.

Prospective student-athletes interested in the sport of men's volleyball are invited to fill out the Recruit Information Form.
