TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Spring Arbor University men's cross country team finished sixth out of 15 scoring teams at the Nike XC Town Twilight on Friday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
The Cougars totaled 214 points in a field featuring several NCAA Division I programs, finishing 13 points ahead of DePauw and 17 ahead of Eastern Illinois. UC San Diego won the meet with 33 points, followed by Florida Gulf Coast with 44.
Chase Hobson led Spring Arbor with a season-best 25:59.0 over the eight-kilometer course, placing 23rd overall.
Luke Morehouse followed in 32nd with a time of 26:12.6, while
Jack Bruder finished 50th in 26:39.3.
Robert Dodd lowered his collegiate 8K best to 27:14.8 to finish 72nd.
Logan Detloff completed the Cougars' scoring five in 75th with a time of 27:18.4.
Joel Lange finished 90th in a collegiate-best 27:43.1, improving his previous mark by 42.3 seconds.
Cooper Singleton followed in 98th at 28:01.1.
Jaycob Hipps also established a collegiate best, finishing 120th in 28:31.9, while Benjamin Campbell placed 141st in 29:38.9.
Spring Arbor returns to action Oct. 24 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
