GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – No. 25 Spring Arbor University placed fifth out of 10 teams at the 21st annual Knight Invite, hosted by Calvin University on Saturday.
The Cougars finished with 131 points and a combined team time of 2:15:24.
NCAA Division II Grand Valley State captured the team title with 20 points, followed by No. 16 ranked Goshen with 91, NCAA Division II Davenport with 95 and host Calvin with 100. Spring Arbor finished ahead of Aquinas, Kalamazoo, Indiana Tech, No. 22 Cornerstone and Huntington.
Luke Morehouse led the way for SAU, completing the 8,000-meter course in 26:14 to finish 19th overall in the field of more than 160 racers.
Chase Hobson followed in 25th with a time of 26:25, while
Jack Bruder crossed the line in 26:38 to place 33rd.
Robert Dodd was the fourth Cougar across the finish line, placing 57th in 27:17.
Cooper Singleton rounded out Spring Arbor's scoring five with a time of 28:48, finishing 102nd.
Jaycob Hipps and
Joel Lange completed SAU's top seven. Hipps finished in 29:15 to place 116th, while Lange recorded a time of 29:41 and finished 131st.
