SPRING ARBOR, Mich. –
Evan Miller drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Spring Arbor University baseball team past Siena Heights University 13-2 on Tuesday night at Hank Burbridge Field.
The Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after
Joey Tessmer doubled to center field and
Brenden Phillips singled to left field, each scoring one run.
SAU added to its early lead in the bottom of the third inning when
Connor Dee doubled, scoring one run, Miller was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and
Eli DeVisser singled, scoring two runs.
Connor Reed stepped on the hill first for Cougars. The left-handed pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
Jack Sayler,
Brody Pruitt, and
Nate Sanko each threw scoreless innings in relief.
Spring Arbor amassed 15 hits in the game. Miller and Tessmer each collected three hits. DeVisser, Phillips, and
Connor Christman also finished with multiple hits.
The Cougars travel to No. 3 Taylor University in Upland, Indiana for a four-game series beginning on Friday, Mar. 13.
