Cougars Roll Past Rochester Christian

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team earned a 12-0 victory over Rochester Christian University on Tuesday in non-conference action at Hank Burbridge Field.
 
With the win, the Cougars improve to 13-12 on the season.
 
Spring Arbor built a steady lead early, scoring single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to go up 3-0. The Cougars added another run in the sixth before breaking the game open with an eight-run seventh inning.
 
Nate Dutkowski led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Brenden Phillips crossed the plate three times while Zach Adams drove in four runs.
 
On the mound, five Cougar pitchers combined for the shutout. Jack Sayler got the start and tossed four hitless innings, striking out three. Jared Plane followed with two strong innings, recording five strikeouts. Brody Pruitt, Kyle Kantola and Jack Will each added a scoreless inning of relief to complete the combined shutout.
 
Spring Arbor returns to action on Friday, March 27, hosting Mount Vernon Nazarene University for the start of a four-game series at Hank Burbridge Field.
