SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Fresh off the best season of his collegiate career, Spring Arbor University men's golfer Zach Koch added another accomplishment to his résumé by winning the 2026 Jackson Masters Golf Tournament on Sunday at Calderone Golf Club.
 
Koch fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish at 142 (-2) for the 36-hole event, edging the runner-up by one stroke. He secured the victory in dramatic fashion by sinking a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th green.
 
The tournament victory continues an impressive stretch for Koch, who earned All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors following the 2025-26 season.
 
The Franklin, Wisconsin native led the Cougars with a 74.9 scoring average over 19 rounds while recording five rounds at par or better and a season-low round of 70. He also finished in the top 10 in eight of 10 events, including five top-five finishes and four individual tournament victories. Those four career wins rank sixth-most in Spring Arbor program history.
 
Following the victory, Koch credited both his faith and the support of SAU men's golf assistant coach Chris Chaney.
 
"All glory goes to God and my Savior, Jesus Christ," Koch said. "It's been a long time coming."
 
Koch also thanked Chaney, who encouraged him to compete in the event.
 
"Chris Chaney is an awesome coach, person and player," Koch said.
 
Spring Arbor kicks off the 2026-27 campaign at The University of Olivet's Lou Collins Memorial Tournament at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan on Sept. 2-3.
