SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – No. 19 Spring Arbor University continued its perfect start to the 2026 season with a 2-1 victory over Cornerstone University on Saturday evening at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
The Cougars improved to 5-0-0 with the win, while Cornerstone suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 3-1-0.
Spring Arbor applied pressure from the opening whistle and needed just over seven minutes to break through.

Karly Miller in the seventh minute, and Miller finished for her first goal of the season to give SAU an early 1-0 advantage.
The Cougars doubled the lead in the 20th minute when
Isa Martinez found the back of the net for her first goal of the year, sending Spring Arbor into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
Cornerstone cut the deficit in half in the 73rd minute when Brooke Harmsen scored to make it 2-1. The goal was the first allowed by Spring Arbor this season after the Cougars opened the year with four consecutive shutouts.
The Cougars finished with a 19-8 advantage in shots, including an 11-5 edge in shots on goal, and earned all six corner kicks in the match.
Kailey Walcott made three saves in the opening half before
Mia Warner played the final 45 minutes and recorded one save.
Spring Arbor hits the road and will play at Campbellsville on Thursday, Sept. 10 before visiting No. 16 Lindsey Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 12.
