Cougars in final of MCC tourney

The Cougars got off to a good start in doubles and never looked back as they avenged a regular-season loss to Taylor in a 7-2 win at the MCC conference tournament. Impressive wins at #1 and #2 doubles put the Cougars in a strong position going into singles action.
David Darling and Rafael Schuster pulled out a 9-7 win at #1 doubles while Nathan Scholten and Aaron Mayes won 8-6 in the #2 spot. With that strong start, the #3-seeded Cougars just kept going in singles, winning at #2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Both Nathan Scholten and Andrew DeBruyn turned the tables and beat players who had beaten them 8 days ago.
Now the Cougars will play tomorrow against top-seeded Huntington at 9:00 in the final of the MCC tournament. The winner automatically qualifies for the NAIA tournament next May.
