The Cougars lost decisively to Calvin College despite wins at #1 and #2 singles by
David Darling and
Aaron Mayes, respectively. Darling and Mayes have both now won 7 consecutive singles matches.
Going into the doubles down 4-2 the Cougars needed to sweep the doubles. Instead, they were swept and a potential close finish turned into a runaway win for Calvin, which left SAU with an 18-5 record.
The Cougars will lick their wounds and prepare for their final match against Aquinas on May 7before leaving for Mobile, Alabama on May 8 to compete in the NCCAA national tournament.
