The Spring Arbor tennis team struggled in the first day of the NCCAA national tennis tournament. The Cougars suffered a setback when #2 singles player,
Aaron Mayes, and #3 singles player,
Nathan Scholten (who both also play #1 doubles together) were unable to perform due to illness. This left the Cougars overmatched against two strong opponents, North Greenville University and Olivet Nazarene University. Both matches ended with SAU coming out on the wrong end of 5-0 scores.
