The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team grabbed their seventh win of the season and their sixth shutout as they dropped Cincinnati Christian 5-0 at the Cougar Soccer Complex tonight.
The Cougar defense of seniors Hannah Adams and Cheyenne Martinez-Trevino and sophomores Amanda Curtis and Becca Lynn did not allow the visitors a single shot in the contest.
Meanwhile the Cougar offense registered 28 shots with 14 on goal en-route to racking up their five tallies.
Junior Brooklyn Morgan picked up a goal and two assists, while fellow junior Karly Linton had a goal and assist of her own.
Sophomore Samantha Sturgeon picked up the game winner with her third marker of the season while classmate Megan Colby picked up a pair of goals less than a minute apart in the second half. Freshman Kristina Sobel and junior Ashley DeNio each picked up an assist in the second half of play.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kelly Reszka had a quiet night in picking up her first solo shutout of the season.
The NAIA #9 ranked Cougars improve to 7-1-1 with the win while Cincinnati Christian falls to 5-3. The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday when they kick off their Crossroads League play against Bethel College at home. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m.
