Cougars fall to IWU in men's tennis

SPRING ARBOR, MI – Indiana Wesleyan took command of the tennis match between the Wildcats and Spring Arbor University dropping the Cougars 8-1 on Friday afternoon.

Andrew Fitzpatrick picked up the lone point for Spring Arbor with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Adam Wroughton at #6 singles  Michael Darling played the match of the day at #5 singles against Daniel Smith losing the first set 4-6 and coming back to win the second set 7-5 to take it to a third set.  The Wildcat's, Smith took the deciding set 12-10 for the win.

The loss drops Spring Arbor to the 3-5 for the season and in the Crossroads League.  IWU improves to 8-3 overall and 7-1 in the Crossroads.  The two teams will face each other again in the first round of the CL Tournament which begins on Monday, October 1.  The sixth seed, Spring Arbor will travel to the three seed Indiana Wesleyan campus to begin their quest to 3peat as the CL Tournament Champion and a return trip to the NAIA National Championship.
