Cougars fall to Davenport 8-1 in men's tennis

SPRING ARBOR, MIMichael Darling picked up the only point for Spring Arbor with a 6-3, 6-1 win at #5 singles as the Cougars lost 8-1 to the Panthers of Davenport University on Wednesday afternoon.

While an 8-1 score might seem lop-sided, the match was anything but.  Matt Wojtkowski lost a heart-breaking match at the #1 singles position going three sets, 3-6, 7-6, 9-11 and Jesse DeBoer's match at #3 singles could have gone either way with Davenport getting the nod at 7-5, 7-5.

John Hall and Aaron Laatsch fell at #3 Doubles by the score of 8-4 for the closest match on the doubles side.

The Cougars fall to 7-12 for the year and will host Cornerstone University on April 22 at 4:00 for the next match.
