Men's Tennis take out the Crimson Wave of Calumet College 6-3

ALBION, MI – It says on the calendar that it is spring, but try to convince anyone on a spring athletic team in Michigan.  With just a day or two of practice outside, Head Coach, Terry Darling and the men's tennis team had to go hunting for indoor courts to host a match against Calumet College of St. Joseph (IN).  Albion College agreed to allow SAU to host the match and the Cougars took advantage of the opportunity to play with a 6-3 win over the Crimson Wave on Friday afternoon.

After sweeping the doubles, Spring Arbor took a 3-0 lead in the singles portion where the Cougars and Crimson Wave split 3-3 to allow Spring Arbor the 6-3 win.

Jesse DeBoer (3S), Michael Darling (5S), and Andrew Fitzpatrick (6S) each won in Singles and Matt Wojtkowski and DeBoer (1D), Drew Herlein and Darling (2D), and John Hall and Aaron Laatsch (3D) all teamed together to pick up wins in Doubles.

Spring Arbor improved to 6-11 for the year and will travel to St. Francis on Saturday, April 5 for a non-conference match with a familiar conference opponent.  The Cougars of St. Francis and SAU played the Crossroads League official match back in September with Spring Arbor getting the upper hand 5-4.  The match in Fort Wayne will begin at 3:00
