SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 1 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team dominated from start to finish in their regular season finale, beating the Marian University Knights 4-0 to clinch its sixth straight Crossroads League regular season championship. The Cougars scored just minutes into the game and never looked back. Bethany Balcer led the way again for the Cougars scoring twice in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just five minutes into the contest Kaley Buck found the back of the net to give the Cougars an early 1-0 lead.
- Later in the first half Bethany Balcer started the Cougars second scoring attack as she played a give and go with Corrie Good. Good played the ball back across the six where Balcer one touched it to give Spring Arbor a 2-0 lead.
- Balcer was not finished. In the 52nd minute, she drew a foul in the box giving herself another scoring opportunity, this one by way of penalty kick. Balcer slotted the ball lower left for her second goal of the match and gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead.
- Later in the second half, Renee Broekhuizen made a beautiful run to back line and crossed the ball back to the streaking foot of freshman Lauren Orr.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Spring Arbor dominated from start to finish posting 23 shots to Marian's 6. The Cougars also had four corner kicks and Marian had one.
- The Cougars posted their 13th shutout of the season.
- Balcer added to her league-leading point total as she finished the night with two goals.
FOR THE FOES
- Marian posted four shots on goal. Amanda Annee led the way with two.
- Marian, which is receiving votes in the Top 25 poll, finished the regular season third in the league standings.
- Goalkeeper Jurnee Reveles had seven saves on the night.

By winning the league's regular season championship, Spring Arbor will be the No. 1 seed and have home field advantage throughout in the upcoming Crossroads League Tournament, which is set to begin Saturday, Oct. 29.
