INDIANAPOLIS – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team fell to Marian University in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) on Wednesday night inside the MU Physical Education Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor had trouble slowing down one of the top attacking teams in the Crossroads League on Wednesday night. The Knights, who lead the league in kills per set, hit at a .226 clip in the first set and .290 in the second on their way to claiming the first two frames.
- The Cougars held the Knights to just a .027 hitting percentage in the third set, but were never able to get enough going offensively to rally back.
- Alyssa Walker and Rebekah Kujat led SAU with six kills each while Courtney Kyser chipped in four.
- Annica Stotz dished out eight assists and Olivia Landis finished with a pair of aces.
- Leah Rose and Kasey Follis paced the defensive effort with nine digs apiece and Taylor Johnston followed with seven.
FOR THE FOES
- Anne Strevels tallied a match-high seven kills to lead the Knights while Frannie Stephenson and AlyxaKay Shields added six apiece.
- Julie Hoying handed out 16 assists followed by Madi Heffron with 12.
- Two Knights finished with double-digit digs. Heffron picked up 14 to complete her double-double and Vanessa Lay collected 10.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will finish its road swing with a trip to Taylor University (4-6, 1-1 CL) on Friday, Sept. 9 and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (11-1, 2-0 CL) on Saturday, Sept. 10.
