Volleyball falls to No. 24 Marian

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team suffered a three-set loss () to No. 24 Marian University on Wednesday night inside the McDonald Athletic Center. 

The setback dropped the Cougars to sixth place in the Crossroads League standings with two matches to play in the regular season. The Knights, meanwhile, maintained their first place position, holding a one game lead over the University of Saint Francis.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Spring Arbor and Marian were close midway through the first set. The Knights were clinging to a 14-12 lead before using a 7-1 run to break things open.
  • The No.24 ranked Knights were in control in the second and third sets on their way to earning their sixth straight win.
  • Kyara Black posted a team-high 10 kills and Claudia Ellis followed with six. Annica Stotz finished with 14 assists and six digs while Hope Notter also handed out nine assists.
  • Stephaney Fifield recorded a match-high 11 digs and Olivia Slenk added nine. Maggie Watson and Black both ended the night with four blocks.

 
 

UP NEXT

Spring Arbor visits Saint Francis (26-7, 13-3 CL) on Friday, Oct. 26 before closing out the regular season at home against Goshen College (8-23, 2-13 CL) for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m.
