ELGIN, Ill. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team picked up its first two wins of the season on Saturday at the Judson University Tri-Match defeating, both, Concordia University and Judson in straight sets.
VS. CONCORDIA
FINAL SCORE: Spring Arbor def. Concordia 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Sydney Ritz and freshman Alison Ford powered the SAU attack with 11 kills apiece with Ritz hitting at a .435 clip. Maggie Watson and Claudia Ellis also chipped in four kills each.
- Setters Annica Stotz and Hope Notter combined to hand out 29 assists.
- Sophomore libero Stephaney Fifield anchored the defense with 10 digs while Mackay Heasley was credited with eight and Paige Porter finished with seven.
- The Cougars posted a .310 hitting percentage in the second set and a .348 in the third set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the second match of the day, it was sophomore Sarah Schmid and senior Kasey Follis that led the way for SAU with nine and seven kills, respectively, while Ritz, Ellis and Ford all collected six apiece.
- Notter orchestrated the offense with 18 assists while also adding nine digs. Stotz finished with nine assists and five service aces.
- Fifield picked up a team-high 15 digs and Ford followed with 11.
- Spring Arbor held Judson to a .033 hitting percentage on the afternoon.

Spring Arbor travels to Dearborn, Michigan for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Early Bird Challenge on Friday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 25. The Cougars will face No. 20 Madonna University and Point Park University on Friday before wrapping up the weekend with matches against Michigan-Dearborn and Lawrence Tech on Saturday.
