SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team defeated Cornerstone University 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-17) in its home opener on Wednesday night.

The win is the third straight for the Cougars, who improved their season record to 3-2.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

• Spring Arbor got off to a slow start, hitting -0.026 in the first set, but bounced back to win the next three.
• Alison Ford paced the attack with 14 kills and a .355 hitting percentage. McKenna Peters and Alison Nibbelink followed with nine kills apiece while Claudia Ellis added seven. Hope Notter directed the offense with 35 assists.
• Libero Frances Churchwell registered a season-best 20 digs. Ford finished with 11 digs and Emily Johnson closed with 10. Sarah Eliason had nine digs to go along with her team-high three aces.

 
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor travels to Livonia, Michigan for the Madonna University Julie Martin Memorial Classic. The Cougars will face Roosevelt University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Friday before meeting tournament host Madonna on Saturday.
