STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A historic season came to an end as the Spring Arbor University women's bowling team was eliminated at the NAIA National Championship on Friday.
The Cougars advanced to Round 4 of the championship bracket but were knocked out of the tournament in seven games by Saint Xavier University, 4-3.
Despite falling short of the ultimate goal, Spring Arbor still had its best season in program history. The Cougars won 10 tournaments on the year, including a stretch of seven straight victories. The team also captured its third straight Crossroads League regular season title as well as its first-ever Crossroads League Tournament championship.

BAKER PLAY
- Spring Arbor landed in seventh place in the standings after Thursday morning's qualifying Baker games.
BRACKET PLAY
- In the first round of bracket play, SAU faced off against Midway University where the Cougars fell to the Eagles 4-3 in seven games.
- On Friday morning, Spring Arbor staved off elimination with a 4-2 victory over Concordia University. In the second match of the day, SAU rallied back from a 3-0 deficit to force a seventh game, but Saint Xavier would come away with the win to end the Cougars' championship run.
