Women’s Bowling Season Ends at NAIA National Championship

LANSING, Mich. – Spring Arbor University saw its season come to a close at the NAIA Women's Bowling National Championship, held at Royal Scot in Lansing, Michigan.

The Cougars, the defending national champions, entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed and faced No. 12 University of St. Francis (Ill.) in the opening round. Competing under the event's new Mega Match format – requiring teams to win two of three points across a traditional team game, a five-game Baker total, and a Baker matchplay if necessary – Spring Arbor dropped a 2-0 decision and moved into the elimination bracket.

On day two, the Cougars responded with back-to-back victories in best-of-seven Baker match play. Spring Arbor defeated No. 9 Calumet College of St. Joseph 4-2 and followed with another 4-2 win over No. 8 William Penn University to advance.

That set up a decisive matchup with No. 4 Savannah College of Art and Design, where the Cougars battled in a tightly contested match before falling 4-3 in a heartbreaker to end their tournament run.

Spring Arbor concludes the season with its fifth straight NAIA National Championship appearance and its fifth consecutive Crossroads League championship, continuing a stretch of sustained excellence for the program.
