MARION, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University track and field teams claimed All-League honors in seven events at the 2024 Crossroads League Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
Kylie Brown and
Allison Teed turned in All-League performances on the women's side. Brown finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 58.80 while Teed placed second in the heptathlon racking up 3704 total points.
The men's squad had five record top-three finishes.
Jared Wallace was third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.54, Romeyn was second in the 800 meters in 1:50.89,
Ryan O'Rourke crossed the finish line in 31:51.29 to take third in the 10,000 meters,
Josiah Fitch finished claimed third in the hammer with a mark of 53.15m (174' 4") and
Deacon Dennison finished third in the decathlon with 4117 points.
The Spring Arbor men's team finished sixth in the 10-team field with 65 total points and the SAU women's team finished ninth with 34 points.
Marian University captured, both, the men's and women's team titles.
In addition to SAU's All-League performers, the Cougars hit national qualifying marks in three events. Romeyn hit the A Standard in the 800 and
Chase Hobson hit the A Standard 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:21.15. The men's 4x800 meter relay team also punched its ticket to nationals with an A Standard time of 7:34.91.
Spring Arbor also saw a program record tumble when the women's 4x100 meter relay team of
Shailin Golden,
Camaria Epperson,
Hope Taylor and
Julia Rossini turned in a time of 48.95.
