Hamp named Academic All-American

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The College Sports Communicators have selected Spring Arbor University softball player Emmalee Hamp to the 2024 NAIA Academic All-America® Team.
 
Hamp was picked to the Academic All-America® Second Team after a national vote by the College Sports Communicators. She earlier was honored as a CSC Academic All-District® selection before advancing to the national ballot.
 
Hamp, a graphic design major, was the Crossroads League Player of the Year and named to the All-Crossroads League for the fourth consecutive season. The senior from Alto, Michigan led the team in every offensive category, including her .519 batting average, which also ranked first in the Crossroads League and fourth in the NAIA. She started all 56 games and collected 96 hits with 18 doubles, eight triples and eight home runs while driving in 42 runs and scoring 56 times. In addition to her numbers at the plate, Hamp was just as impressive in the circle boasting a 22-11 record with a 2.07 earned run average. She pitched a league-high 206.1 innings and struck out 197 batters – the most in the Crossroads League.
