Volleyball picks up first win, defeats IU Northwest at Onset Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University opened the 2024 campaign at the Onset Invitational, hosted by the University of Saint Francis.
 
The Cougars lost their first match of the season, falling to Lawrence Tech 3-1, before bouncing back with a 3-1 victory over Indiana University Northwest.

MATCH NOTES
  • After dropping a close first set, Spring Arbor claimed the next three on the way to securing its first win of the season.
  • Bollenbacher and Natasha Bickel led the attack with 15 and 10 kills, respectively. Wedge and Gabby Bryja combined for 35 assists while Wedge also collected 16 digs.
  • Throop notched a career-high 25 digs and Sheridan Young followed with 18. Keely Hinzman and Julia Mitchell added four blocks each.
 
 
 
UP NEXT
The Onset Invitational resumes on Friday. The Cougars will play two matches at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum against Columbia International University at 1:15 p.m. and West Virginia University Tech at 5:45 p.m.
