EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's cross country team opened the 2024 campaign at the 43rd annual Spartan Invitational presented by Auto-Owners, hosted by Michigan State University, on Friday morning.
The Cougars finished eighth in the 12-team field, which included teams from Michigan State, Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley State and Ferris State.
Freshman
Cylee Elkins led the way for SAU finishing 70th out of 138 runners in the 6k race in 24:29.
Shelby Cade,
Alexis Brown and
Madyson Oudbier were all close behind posting times of 24:53, 24:54 and 25:09, respectively.
Michigan State claimed the team title and Grand Valley State finished second.
