Volleyball sweeps Saint Francis for 20th win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Spring Arbor University volleyball continued its impressive season with a 3-0 road sweep over the University of Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon, completing the season sweep of USF and reaching several program milestones in the process.
 
With the win, SAU improved to 20-8 overall and 7-8 in the Crossroads League, marking the program's first 20-win season since 2009 and its most victories in a season since 2010, when the Cougars finished with 19.
 
Spring Arbor came out strong and never looked back, controlling play from start to finish to earn set wins of 25-11, 25-13, and 25-16.
 
The Cougars put together a balanced offensive performance. Kendall Bollenbacher led the attack with 10 kills and a .643 hitting percentage. Isabelle Kirkendall followed with seven kills and Kelsie Lilly added six while Keely Hinzman finished with six aces. Palmer Fortress anchored the defense with another steady outing in the back row picking up 15 digs. The Cougars also recorded 15 total blocks with Julia Mitchell, Lilly and Hinzman credited with four each.
 
Spring Arbor visits Bethel University on Wednesday, Oct. 29 before wrapping up the regular season with home matches against No. 12 Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday, Nov. 1 and Huntington University on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
