SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – On Senior Day inside the McDonald Athletic Center, the Spring Arbor University volleyball team battled but came up short against No. 12 Mount Vernon Nazarene University, falling 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Nationally ranked MVNU controlled the opening two sets to take a 2-0 lead. Spring Arbor responded in the third set, racing out to an 11-2 advantage en route to winning 25-20 and extending the match. In the fourth, SAU stayed within striking distance early, but a 9-1 run by MVNU allowed the visitors to pull away.
Lilly paced Spring Arbor with 13 kills and a .355 hitting percentage. Bollenbacher followed with eight kills and 14 digs while
Keely Hinzman five kills and five blocks.
Camy Wedge and
Gabby Bryja combined for 27 assists. Libero
Palmer Fortress anchored the defense with 18 digs.
Spring Arbor (21-9, 8-9 CL) wraps up the regular season with a home match against Huntington University (24-6, 12-5 CL) on Wednesday, Nov. 5 starting at 7 p.m. from the McDonald Athletic Center.
