SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's
Haven Chapman has been named the Crossroads League Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Chapman picked up 10 steals, 13 rebounds and two blocks for the Cougars in wins over Rochester Christian and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. The freshman had 11 rebounds and six steals against Rochester Christian and closed the week with four steals and a block against the Pomeroys.
Along with her effort on the defensive end of the floor the Otisville, Michigan native averaged a team-leading 16.0 points per game. She finished with 15 points at Rochester Christian, giving her a double-double, and followed with a 17-point performance against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods going 8-for-10 from the field.
Spring Arbor opens Crossroads League play at home against Huntington University (4-2) on Wednesday, Nov. 19 starting at 5 p.m. from the McDonald Athletic Center.
