JACKSON, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's bowling team continued its strong season with a first place finish at Crossroads League Tournament #4, topping the seven-team field on Friday at JAX 60.
The Cougars claimed the team title by a decisive margin, totaling 5,012 pins on the day and winning the event by 170 pins. The victory marked Spring Arbor's sixth tournament win of the season, including the previous two Crossroads League Tournaments.
Individually,
Kayla Tafanelli led the way with a second place finish among more than 80 bowlers. Tafanelli rolled a three-game total of 616 pins, averaging 205.3 pins per game. Abigail Gutowski followed closely in third place with 615 pins while
Mackenzie Pilny and
Abigail Hamilton also earned top-10 finishes, posting totals of 591 and 558 pins, respectively.
Despite capturing the tournament victory, Spring Arbor will enter the Crossroads League Championship as the No. 3 seed after recording the third-highest pin total following the 12 Baker games.
