JACKSON, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's bowling team turned in a strong showing at the Scotty Classic, finishing second out of 20 teams and narrowly missing the team title by just 10 pins.
The Cougars posted a total score of 5,594 pins on the day, trailing only Aquinas College, which claimed first place with 5,604. Spring Arbor created separation from the rest of the field, finishing nearly 400 pins ahead of third-place University of Olivet, which totaled 5,207.
Individually,
Carson Kohler led the way for SAU, claiming the top spot in the individual standings. Kohler rolled a three-game total of 719 pins, averaging an impressive 239.7 pins per game.
Connor Rogus followed closely behind with a third-place finish after collecting 693 pins.
Spring Arbor also saw strong depth throughout the lineup, as
Kingston Corpuz and
Noah Colgan each earned top-10 finishes, placing seventh and eighth overall, respectively.
The Cougars will look to carry that momentum into their next competition as they travel to Indianapolis for Crossroads League Tournament #3, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Royal Pin Western.
