ADDISON, Ill. – The Spring Arbor University men's bowling team made program history on Friday as
Connor Rogus and
Ryan Wenman advanced out of the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Sectionals, earning spots in the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the program as Rogus and Wenman become the first individuals in SAU history to qualify for the national singles championships.
Competing in one of four sectional sites across the country, Rogus and Wenman each delivered standout performances at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois to finish among the top six and secure qualification out of a highly competitive field of nearly 300 bowlers representing NCAA and NAIA institutions.
Rogus led the way for the Cougars with a fifth-place finish, posting a six-game total of 1,312, highlighted by a high game of 256. Wenman was close behind in sixth place, finishing with a total pinfall of 1,310 across his six games.
The USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships are set to take place April 13-18 at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
