Men’s Bowling Qualifies for USBC National Championship

ADDISON, Ill. – The Spring Arbor University men's bowling team made history this weekend, qualifying for the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships for the first time after a fourth-place finish at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals held at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois.

The Cougars secured one of four national qualifying spots from the sectional, finishing fourth out of 20 teams to punch their ticket to the national stage. Across 64 baker games, SAU totaled 13,263 pins in a highly competitive field featuring programs from across the country.

After entering the final day of competition in sixth place, Spring Arbor surged up the standings with a standout performance in the fourth and final block. The Cougars posted the highest scores of the block, highlighted by a 268 game, to climb into the top four and secure qualification.

The milestone marks the first time a Spring Arbor men's or women's bowling team has advanced to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, which will feature the top 16 teams in the nation.

Spring Arbor will compete for a national title April 13-18 at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
