JACKSON, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's bowling team continued its dominant season on Saturday, capturing first place at the Scotty Classic, held at JAX 60, and topping a 14-team field for its seventh tournament victory of the year.
The Cougars totaled 4,803 pins on the day, finishing 78 pins ahead of second-place Indiana Wesleyan (4,725). The University of Michigan-Dearborn rounded out the podium in third with 4,638 pins.
SAU showcased its depth across the lineup, led by
Caeli Schultz, who placed fourth overall in a field of more than 120 bowlers. Schultz rolled a three-game total of 584 pins, averaging 194.7 pins per game.
Kayla Tafanelli followed closely behind with a seventh-place finish, posting 557 pins while
Abigail Hamilton cracked the top 10 with a total of 540 pins to place 10th.
Up next, the Cougars will travel to Indianapolis for CL Tournament #3, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Royal Pin Western.
