SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University came in at No. 18 in the seventh and final edition of the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Wednesday.
Head coach
John Williams and the Cougars finished the regular season with a 22-6 record and a 13-5 mark in Crossroads League, finishing third in the conference standings. However, SAU fell to Bethel University in the first round of the Crossroads League Tournament.
Megan Zeitz leads the team scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game while
Ashley Weller and
Haven Chapman are averaging 9.1 points per game. Chapman is averaging a team-best 5.3 rebounds per contest while
Aubrey Crockett is handing a team-leading 2.3 assists per game.
Spring Arbor is one of six Crossroads League teams in the latest rankings. Joining SAU is No. 4 Marian University and No. 6 University of Saint Francis while Huntington University, Taylor University and Indiana Wesleyan University are receiving votes.
The Cougars (22-7) will look for an at-large berth into the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship when the NAIA unveils the bracket with a selection show on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 8 p.m.
