SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's
Kyler Hinken has been named the Crossroads League Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
It is the second career player of the week award for the Hudsonville, Michigan native after also earning the honor during his freshman campaign in 2024.
Hinken was outstanding on the mound in an 8-0 victory over Goshen College. The junior right-hander tossed the first complete-game shutout of his career, allowing just two hits over seven innings while striking out seven. He carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before the Maple Leafs broke it up with an infield single.
On the season, Hinken owns a 2-1 record with a 1.45 ERA.
Up next, Spring Arbor (7-4, 4-0 CL) travels to Winona Lake, Indiana for a four-game series with Grace College (8-8, 0-4 CL) beginning Friday, Mar. 6.
