SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's Alyssa Budd has been named the Crossroads League Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
 
The honor marks the first athlete of the week award of her career.
 
Budd hit the NAIA A standard in the long jump at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays, finishing third with a mark of 5.95 meters (19-6.25) while setting a new SAU program record.
 
The Jackson, Michigan native currently ranks sixth in the nation in the event.
 
Spring Arbor returns to action on Friday, April 24 at the Siena Heights University Don Kleinow Invitational, before competing at the Grand Valley State University Extra Weekend Meet on April 24-25.
