SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's
Grace Lentz and
Emilee Underwood have been named the Crossroads League Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
It is the first career player of the week award for Lentz while Underwood picked up her fourth of the season and fifth of her career.
Spring Arbor closed out its 2026 campaign with a deep run in the Crossroads League Tournament, which included upset wins over No. 23 Indiana Wesleyan University and No. 22 Marian University. The Cougars advanced all the way to the championship round before falling to the University of Saint Francis.
Lentz had the hot bat for SAU during its extended postseason run. The senior hit .438 with one home run, two doubles and four runs batted in over six games.
Underwood went 3-1 in the circle and worked 24.2 innings. The junior pitcher posted a 2.84 ERA and fanned 16 batters.
