SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Following an unbeaten start to the 2026 season, the Spring Arbor University men's soccer team is receiving votes in the first regular-season edition of the STADIONIC NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
 
The Cougars have opened the season with four consecutive victories, moving to 4-0 after Tuesday night's 2-1 road win over Albion College. Spring Arbor was not listed among the Top 25 or receiving votes in the NAIA preseason poll released Aug. 19.
 
SAU has outscored its opponents 11-2 through its first four matches, recording victories over Cornerstone University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, Governors State University and Albion.
 
Caleb Swartzendruber has helped lead the Cougar attack with a team-high four goals, while several other players have contributed to a balanced offensive start. Alex Murphy, Ian Lama, Pedro Rosa, Ryan Nees and Jesse Sangster have also found the back of the net during the opening stretch.
 
Micah Vasey has been one of the primary facilitators for the SAU attack, while Will Kuiphof, Lama and others have contributed assists. Vasey recorded three assists alone in the season-opening 3-0 victory over Cornerstone.
 
Spring Arbor has also been strong defensively, allowing just two goals through four matches and recording two shutouts. Soren Goubely Dondaine and Tommy Farrell have shared time in goal for the Cougars, with Dondaine most recently making four saves in the victory at Albion.
 
Spring Arbor (4-0-0) returns home Saturday, Sept. 5 to host Eastern Oregon University, which is also receiving votes, at the Cougar Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
