The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team laid siege to the Huntington University defensive third on Saturday and the Foresters bent for around 60 minutes before finally breaking and surrendering the game winner to Karly Linton.
Linton, the Crossroads League leader in goals scored, took a pass from left back Kailyn Wegenke and cut back on one defender before unloading a 24 yard bomb past Huntington goalkeeper Caitlyn Adams for her NAIA leading ninth game winning goal of the season.
Just four minutes later in the 64th minute, junior Sam Sturgeon put the game on ice, taking another pass from Wegenke and beating Adams to the top left corner to make it 2-0 in favor of SAU.
