GOSHEN, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match on Thursday, falling 6-3 to Goshen College in Crossroads League action.
The Cougars got off to a hot start, winning two of the three doubles matches. The pair of John Hall and Tony Mayotte downed their opponents 8-4 while Andrew Herlein and Andrew Fitzpatrick won 8-3. Michael Darling and Jesse DeBoer nearly completed the sweep, but were edged 9-7 on the No. 1 court.
However, Goshen (2-4, 2-2 Crossroads League) would rally back, surrendering only two sets in singles play, en route to taking five of the six flights. DeBoer outlasted Jon Kaasa at the No. 2 position 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
Spring Arbor (2-2, 2-2 Crossroads League) will look to snap the skid when they host Grace College on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m.
