ALBION, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over local rival Albion College on Thursday at the Ungrodt Tennis Center.
The Cougars got off to a fast start winning a pair of doubles matches. Michael Darling and Jesse DeBoer downed their opponents 8-2 at No. 1 while Andrew Herlein and Andrew Fitzpatrick posted a convincing 8-3 victory on the No. 3 court.
The Britons managed to salvage one point in doubles play, but that would be all for the afternoon after SAU claimed all six singles matches in straight sets.
Spring Arbor will travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina for Spring Break where it will play five matches in five days. The Cougars will kick off the trip against Lawrence Tech University on Monday, Mar. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
