FINAL SCORE: Spring Arbor 2, Saint Francis 0
LOCATION: Bishop D'Arcy Stadium | Fort Wayne, Ind.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Looking to bounce back after surrendering two late goals in a 2-2 tie with No. 19 Indiana Wesleyan University earlier in the week, Spring Arbor started strong against Saint Francis.
- The Cougars wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Morris Kamara found the back of the net less than four minutes into the contest with an assist from Lewis Jones.
- The first half got pretty chippy between the two sides as six yellow cards were assessed and a combined 15 fouls called between the two sides.
- The score remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when a corner kick from Roland Gibson found Janum Sailor, and Sailor headed it past the USF goalkeeper.
- The Cougars finished the match with 13 shots, putting 11 those attempts on goal. Saint Francis could only muster seven shots on the night. SAU also held a commanding 10-1 advantage on corner kicks.
- Goalkeeper Cobi Piper posted a pair of saves to register the shutout.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The win was the fourth straight for SAU over Saint Francis, which now owns a 9-3 advantage in the series over the last 10 seasons.
- Spring Arbor moved into first place in the Crossroads League standings, and is the only remaining unbeaten team in league play.
- Kamara leads the team with six goals this season, and also ranks second in the conference in goals and total points (14).
FOR THE FOES
- Steven Johnson finished with a team-high three shots for Saint Francis while Colin Barker tallied two.
- USF goalkeeper Braden Conn made nine saves on the night, the second-most he has made in a single game this season.
QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH NATHAN MILLER
- "These games in our league can be very tricky. You have to be up for every single one and we were. They were extremely physical and tried to kick us to death, and our guys kept good composure after a much needed halftime."
- "Guys have stepped up during a time of year when some injuries are on the team. We don't fuss about it too much and guys are prepared to take their opportunity and fight for the team. It's all about the team."
- "We will heal well, recover, and prepare for another tough match as they all are."
