Box Score MONTGOMERY, W.V. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team wrapped up its season opening three-match road trip by earning a scoreless draw with West Virginia Tech on Monday night. Senior goalkeeper Cobi Piper stopped all five shots he faced against the Golden Bears for his 10th career shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Virginia Tech, which is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, outshot Spring Arbor by a 12-7 margin, including a 6-2 advantage in the overtime periods.
- Piper was terrific between the pipes, finishing the night with five saves, including three key stops in the first overtime period.
- Sophomore Janum Sailor had two shots for the Cougars while Morris Kamara, Michael Caccavo, Cory Swartzendruber and Aidan Taylor each registered one.
- Spring Arbor held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Tonight marked the first time this season that SAU has been held scoreless. The last time the Cougars were kept off the scoreboard was in the semifinals of the Crossroads League Tournament last season against Grace College.
- The clean sheet by Piper was the 10th of his career.
- Through three matches this season, the Cougars have surrendered just one goal, ranking second in the Crossroads League behind only Mount Vernon Nazarene University, which has blanked its first three opponents.
FOR THE FOES
- Matias Pazos recorded a team-high three shots, putting one on target. Ignacio Tellechea, Daniel Ramirez and Sergio Sanchez all finished with two shots apiece.
- Goalkeeper Hunter Moles posted a clean sheet, finishing the match with four saves.
