MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's tennis team earned its second straight win to start the season with an 8-1 victory over Bethel College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor began the afternoon by capturing five of the six singles points. Four of those wins came in straight sets.
- Jacob Byrd battled back to win in three sets at No. 5 singles. The senior dropped the opening set, but claimed the second to force a decisive third set. In the third set, Byrd fell behind 3-0 but continued to fight, and rallied all the way back for a 7-6 tiebreaker win.
- The would go on to sweep the doubles matches, including a thrilling 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles by Nick Romano and Vincent McShane.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will travel to Upland, Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 10 to take on Crossroads League rival Taylor University (2-3, 2-1 CL) beginning at 11 a.m.
