GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin College picked up three points in doubles competition and the Spring Arbor University men's tennis team was unable to overcome the deficit, falling to the Knights 6-3 Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights edged out a pair of 9-7 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to pull ahead 3-0 early. The Cougars closed the gap with wins by Nick Romano and Alex Reinbold at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but the home team would clinch the overall victory with points at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. Jacob Byrd picked up the last point for SAU with his triumph at No. 6 singles.
