MARION, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's 4x800 meter relay team secured All-American honors at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
The foursome of
Kalyb VanWormer,
Benjamin Schefka,
Camden Khon and
Isaiah Romeyn finished fourth overall in the event with a time of 7:29.66 – breaking a school record that had stood for 20 years.
In addition to those in the relay team,
Josiah Fitch,
Emma Stewart,
Chase Hobson and
Ryan O'Rourke also competed at the national meet.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Josiah Fitch led things for Spring Arbor. The senior thrower broke his own school record in the hammer with a mark of 56.16 meters (184' 3") to finish 11th overall in the event.
- Emma Stewart cleared 3.60 meters (11' 9.75") in the pole vault to finish 13th in the event.
- On the track, the men's 4x800 relay squad posted a time of 7:34.98 to win its heat and finish second overall in the prelims to advance to the event finals.
- Chase Hobson placed 36th in the 3000 meter steeplechase, completing the race in 9:59.54.
- Ryan O'Rourke finished 28th in the 10,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 31:47.34.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 4x800 finals, the SAU relay team finished fourth overall to earn All-American honors. The Cougars turned in a school record time of 7:29.66, breaking the previous program best time of 7:29.78 set in 2004.
- Just after running a leg in the 4x800, Camden Khon competed in the 5000 meter run. The freshman finished 37th with a time of 15:30.05.
The University of the Cumberlands took home the men's team title with 64 points while Marian University was close behind with 62 points.
British Columbia ran away with the title on the women's side, collecting 137 points. William Carey University was the next closest team with 83 points.
