UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University track & field teams opened the indoor season in record-setting fashion on Friday with three school records, one national qualifying mark, and 13 new SAU Top 10 performances at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Open.
Alyssa Budd led the charge for the Cougars with a standout day, rewriting two entries in the SAU record book. Budd clocked a 7.74 in the 60-meter dash, claiming the school record, and later broke her own long jump record with a leap of 5.56m (18' 3").
On the men's side,
Quintin Williams delivered a historic performance in the 60 meters, sprinting to a school-record 6.82, which also hit the NAIA B national qualifying standard.
Tanana Emmendorfer picked up Spring Arbor's lone event win of the day, cruising to first place in the 400 meters with a time of 57.93.
