GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University track & field team wrapped up competition Saturday at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville.
The Cougars produced two All-American performances during the meet, awarded to the top eight finishers in each event.
Camden Khon led the way with a third-place finish in the mile, clocking a time of 4:04.59. In a tightly contested race, the top three finishers were separated by just 0.35 seconds at the finish. Khon advanced to the finals after posting the fastest time in the preliminary round at 4:11.96.
Spring Arbor also earned All-American honors in the men's distance medley relay as the quartet of
Jacob Singleton,
Caden Kyser,
Jack Bruder and Khon finished eighth overall with a time of 10:04.69. The group qualified for the final with the fourth-fastest time in the prelims at 10:03.61, which ranks as the third-best performance in program history.
The Cougars were also represented on the men's side by
Quintin Williams, who competed in the 60-meter dash, and the 4x400-meter relay team. Williams placed 14th overall in the 60 with a time of 6.79, matching his own school record.

Shane Paterson and
Johnathon Potter finished 21st overall with a time of 3:17.50, the third-fastest mark in Spring Arbor history.
On the women's side,
Tanana Emmendorfer returned to the national stage for the second consecutive year in the 400 meters. She narrowly missed qualifying for the event finals, finishing 10th in the prelims with a time of 56.55.
Marian University captured the men's team championship with 66 points, followed by University of the Cumberlands with 52 points. Marian also claimed the women's team title with 51 points, while Dickinson State University finished runner-up with 41 points.
The meet marked the conclusion of the indoor season for Spring Arbor. The Cougars will open their outdoor campaign Mar. 20-21 at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland and the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Classic in Marion.
