SAU Claims Six Titles, Posts Strong Showing at CL Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University track & field teams delivered an outstanding performance at the Crossroads League Championships, held Thursday and Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University.

The SAU men's and women's programs combined for one of their strongest conference showings in recent years. The Cougar men placed third out of 10 teams with 108 points – their highest finish and point total since 2013 – while the women finished fourth, their best finish since 2018.

Spring Arbor claimed six conference titles on the weekend. On the women's side, Alyssa Budd captured the conference title in the long jump with a mark of 5.90 meters, while Allison Teed added a championship performance in the javelin. Teed not only secured the title, but also set a new SAU program record with a throw of 36.34 meters while competing in the heptathlon.

The Cougar men produced four individual event champions. Dean Reynolds won the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.05, while Camden Khon claimed the 5000-meter title in 14:38.26. Elijah Dyer added another first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 53.63.

Spring Arbor's 4x800 relay team of Jacob Singleton, Jack Bruder, Camden Khon and Dean Reynolds delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning the event with a time of 7:30.34. The mark also hit the NAIA A standard, qualifying the group for the national championships.

In addition, the Cougars totaled 17 All-Crossroads League performances (top-three finishes), with nine from the men and eight from the women.
