Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – After suffering their first setback of the season earlier in the week, the Spring Arbor University men's soccer team bounced back late Saturday night to beat the University of Michigan-Dearborn 5-1. The Cougars found the back of the net three times in the first half and did not let up, as they added two more in the second and rolled to stay unbeaten at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jake Sterling and Kevin Veeder made their presence known early for the Cougars. Coming off injuries that kept both of them out of the lineup to start the season, they looked as if they did not miss a beat. Veeder found Sterling in the box in the 23rd minute to give SAU a 1-0 lead.
- The Cougars extended their lead later in the first half as senior Matthew Brown found Morris Kamara in the 38th minute to make it 2-0.
- Spring Arbor was not done as it tacked on another. This time Kamara and Cory Swartzendruber connected passes to find Brown in the 44th minute to send the Cougars to half time with a 3-0 lead.
- Janum Sailor scored twice in the second half to give the home team five total goals on the night.
- Michigan-Dearbon would ruin the shutout in the 71st minute as Hassan Hussein was on the right end of a Jad Hmadeh pass.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Cobi Piper had a great bounce back game, making four saves on five shots.
- The Cougars outshot Dearborn 41-7 and posted 20 shots on goal.
- Veeder posted four shots on goal and four other Cougars posted three apiece.

- "We were really happy with the team's response tonight from Wednesday's let down. They came out firing and played some beautiful, effective soccer."
- "We were very sharp in the first half. Having Veeder and Sterling back certainly helped, they simply make us better. They are working hard on their fitness, and tonight was important for them to get in a rhythm."

Spring Arbor goes back on the road versus another WHAC program as they travel to Livonia, Michigan on Tuesday to play Madonna University. The game is slated to start at 3 p.m.
